Falling into Yoga - Wrapping the deep embrace of yoga around and within as we move into winter and towards the end of a challenging year (or 2!) A workshop suitable for multiple levels beyond the beginner level and with options for advanced practice and discussion for teachers and more experienced yogis.

How has this year or so been for you and how has your yoga nourished (or not!) your life? Imagine yourself dropping into a hammock at Gray Bear after a deep kindly asana session, a sauna and even perhaps a delicious veggie repast! Your only agenda to rest, heal and revive in good company. Watching the slight shift in the air and the beginnings of autumnal colors floating to the earth, could this be the place and time where you can reconnect and allow your practice to hold you in safety, grace and inspiration. Each day (Saturday and Sunday) there will be an active am session, a quieter late afternoon session focusing on meditation, along with evening options and extra meditation times for those that wish. We will begin with a simple practice on Thursday evening and depending on the wishes of the group evening discussion sessions will arise to support our “falling" and our “arising”. Plenty to time to rest in quiet, receive amazing bodywork or enjoy walks and company. We will end with an early am practice and meditation on Sunday morning followed by brunch.

Please note: Mary requests that all participants are vaccinated to facilitate a more relaxed and safer atmosphere for all.

Gray Bear is home to 400 acres of rolling hills, thick forest, natural springs, and even a waterfall. You can experience the wonders of nature while sitting in a hand-built wood fire sauna; hear the silence of nature's symphony lying on a hammock while curled under a blanket; and revel in clear air and water while using shower outdoors.

With all of this nature we have some suggestions to consider when packing:

  • Working flashlight ...it gets dark with only the light of the stars to guide you!
  • A bathing suit ... good for the hot tub, sauna, and Watsu massage pool
  • Water bottle ...Gray Bear does not use disposable cups. Purified water is available in the Main House and the Yoga Room
  • A bath robe/sarong
  • House slippers or socks to wear indoors ...no shoes inside please
  • Comfortable walking shoes/sandals for an inspired nature hike
  • Warm clothing ...mornings & evenings can be cool
  • Comfortable clothes for exercising/yoga

Please do not bring any drugs, alcohol, or pets. Gray Bear is a non-smoking, pet-free and alcohol-free facility.
