A Week of Yoga with JJ Gormley

With this experience, we make an investment in our health. There is a reason yoga retreats have blossomed in our culture. This entire experience promotes vitality. Taking our health for granted is simply not a sustainable option; we want to promote well being!

JJ will lead you to places where you can truly relax and restore. To remember what your relaxed body feels like. You will want to take a before and after picture of yourself: as this retreat aims for a deep, quiet transformation. Allowing an easefulness to come over you; we will cultivate the inner space where contentment and deep breath reside.

Our week will focus on eating healthy food, developing a personalized practice that benefits your unique make-up and cultivating a sustainable sitting practice. Our goal will be to develop a deep internal compassion; an empathy which allows us to participate in other’s enjoyment. This is one of life’s richest offerings and a true source of joy.

For all levels, beginner’s to advanced, JJ will take beginner’s through gentle yoga movements, teach how to get a meditation practice going, and use simple breath techniques to help calm the mind. Experienced practitioners will enjoy the subtler aspects of the practice, being with like-minded practitioners and enjoying the quiet beauty and all that Gray Bear offers.

There will be ample time to enjoy a massage, a watsu (water therapy), or other body-work from Gray Bear’s phenomenal massage therapists and body workers; hike in the forest surrounding Gray Bear, including a hike to a gentle waterfall; relax in the hammock or sit with friends on the front porch or find a quiet nook to read or relax by yourself.

With over 30 years’ of experience studying yoga, JJ brings a blending of professional, compassion, deep practical experience and factual knowledge of yogic understanding matched by few teaching today. And she keeps it fun. We want to enjoy and love the nourishment this wonderful practice brings. Come, treat yourself to what you know your body and mind need, and enjoy all that Gray Bear has to offer with a very special teacher!
